The Light of the World

Jan 1, 2023

Believe it or not, the days are slowly becoming longer.  It brings me hope during the cold and dark of Winter that Spring will eventually arrive.  Take a moment to reflect on what Christ said:

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” …from John 8

Light brings life!  Light guides us.  The spectrum of light brings us beauty all around us.  Light warms us and helps us see things more clearly.  For Christ to say that He is the “light of life,” He means that we can live courageously in what seems to be a world caught in darkness.  We who follow Christ are indeed people of hope because His light lives in us.

In the dark times of our days, it’s easy to forget that we possess the light of God.  Remember this each day, especially during the difficult times.  It will bring you comfort and joy.

Such comforting light guides our lives; brings us warmth; helps us see the beauty around us and within us and brings us hope. This New Year, remember that the Light of Christ shines within you to share its comforts, joys and hopes to every person you meet.

Have a Bright, Happy New Year!
