Fitness to Maintain Your Independence - Woodchoppers

In order to continue to live independently, we have to be able to bend down to touch the floor or reach up above our shoulders. Think putting away groceries, emptying the dishwasher or retrieving an object that falls to the floor.
This exercise can be done with ANY object:
Make sure your feet line up with your shoulders
Keep your back straight
Bend elbows and knees slightly
Keep your eyes on the object you are holding
Raise it up over your left shoulder
Going into a squat position, bring it down over your right knee
